Have you recently seen palm leaf print around? It’s kinda hard to miss these days. Modern Eve
You see, when a color or a pattern becomes a trend, it’s everywhere! So, today we are going to help you stay on trend, but without having to use palm leaf print at your wedding. That way you can still feel like you are being unique and avoiding being too trendy. On a related note, it’s good to know that when items are trending, and you want to get something that isn’t in season or isn’t as popular, it can be quite difficult. Back in the fall of 2012 when I got married, I wanted mismatched dresses in the cream/white/ivory palette for my bridesmaid dresses and it was, to say the least, a pain in the ass to find that. Finding dresses online from European stores became my go to!
Getting back on topic, how can we incorporate palm leaf print without actually using it? Well, there are many ways! The palm leaf print has a mismatched green palette, so try choosing dresses in the green family. The dresses can be the same shade of green, but each dress is a different style. Another great option is having a variety of green colored dresses and having them all one length as well as close to the same style. If you’re feeling extra adventurous you can let your bridesmaids choose what they want to wear in the green color palette. All are great options! Check out some of our favorites below!
Are you newly engaged and planning your wedding on a budget? Great! Then we have some awesome tips for you!
When it comes to planning a wedding, it is easy to become overwhelmed with all of the ideas floating around. The good thing is that, now-a-days, there is no set way that you have to do things. That in itself should relieve some stress. The even better news is that we are going to help you narrow your search for ideas even more. Whether you are looking to save money on your wedding venue or wedding dress, to the small details surrounding your wedding, we have you covered.
First up we have wedding venues. Although they don’t have much wiggle room with their rental prices, you can get a better deal by having your wedding in the off-season or on an off-day. For example, having your wedding on a Thursday in December is going to be much less expensive than having your wedding on a Saturday in June. If you are getting married in DC, check out our Offbeat Wedding Venues in DC blog post for some ideas!
Second, we want to touch on saving money on your wedding dress. There are a lot of shops out there that sell used wedding dresses or rent them. These are great options to look into. Borrowing Magnolia is a great site to start with! Another lovely option is to buy an inexpensive dress that is more casual but can pass as a wedding dress. Have the dress hemmed to fit you perfectly and then dye the dress. I worked with a photographer on a shoot with that type of dress and it turned out amazing! Check it out here!
Next, let’s talk details. Bistro lights are huge right now, especially if you are planning to have your wedding outdoors, but they can be super expensive to rent and set up. Here is a great way to DIY bistro lights for far less than you would spend to rent them. Check it out here!
Now what about flowers? I know, they can get expensive fast but they are so pretty! Our suggestions would be to go heavy on the greenery and do minimal pops of babies breath or another flower to bring in some color. Greenery and babies breath are going to be much less expensive than having peonies or orchids and can still be very pretty.
Lastly, how about decor? Having less is always an option but what’s the fun in that?! Let’s start with centerpieces. Try using mismatched bottles rather than spending more money on identical vases. How about programs? Are you planning on having those? If so, try looking at printable options. There are so many, like this one! And you’ll probably need something to hold those programs or maybe you need something to hold cards? Try looking around your house, because I am sure you have some sort of a basket or box that would work great! Dress it up with a little sign and some ribbon and you’re good to go!
Hope these friendly tips help save some money on your special day!
